the native language of over 200 million people residing in this geographical region,
which stretches from Southwest Asia to Northwest Africa and known as the Arab
World. Arabic is also known as a religious language. It is ranked among the top six of
the world’s major languages.
At our centre we teach Modern Standard Arabic which is used in books,
newspapers, television and radio, and in conversation between educated Arabs from
different countries.
Our teachers of Arabic are highly qualified and experienced native speakers from
different parts of the Arab world. They use their extensive knowledge of Arabic
language, literature and culture to inspire and encourage students to progress in
their learning and develop a high level of competence in the language.

Urdu

Urdu language is a member of the Indo-Aryan group within the Indo-European family
of languages. It is spoken by more than 100 million people, predominantly in
Pakistan and India. It is the official state language of Pakistan. It is also spoken in
the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Urdu is closely related to Hindi, a language that originated and developed in the
Indian subcontinent. In terms of lexicon, however, they have borrowed extensively
from different sources—Urdu from Arabic and Persian, Hindi from Sanskrit—so they
are usually treated as independent languages. Their distinction is most marked in
terms of writing systems: Urdu uses a modified form of Perso-Arabic script, while
Hindi uses Devanagari.

Our Urdu courses are interactive and focus on developing all four skills – reading,
writing, listening and speaking, while engaging students in meaningful
communicative activities. Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced native
speakers. They use their extensive knowledge of the language, literature and culture
to inspire and encourage students to progress in their learning and develop a high
level of competence in the language.

Hindi

Hindi evolved from Sanskrit and is part of the Indo-European language family, it is
the preferred official language of India, English being the other official language.
Hindi has more than 16 dialects. It is one of the top four languages in the world with
over 425 million people speaking Hindi as their first language and around 120 million
as a second language.
Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced native speakers. They use their
extensive knowledge of the language, literature and culture to inspire and encourage
students to progress in their learning and develop a high level of competence in the
language.

Mandarin

Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world with more than one billion
native speakers. Mandarin (standard Chinese) is the official language of China and it
is one of the six official languages used by the UN. Mandarin has four different tones
including, flat, rising, falling then rising and falling; its grammar is relatively
uncomplicated as there is no verb conjugation. As the world becomes increasingly
globalised, Mandarin has become a popular language to learn.

language.

French

Did you know that French language is the second most studied language and the
fifth most spoken language in the world?
The number of French-speakers is expected to triple in the next 30 years, mostly due
to the African population growth. 15 countries have French as one of their official

languages and 84 countries are members of the Organisation Internationale de la
Francophonie (OIF).
French is both a working language and an official language of the United Nations,
the European Union, UNESCO, NATO, the International Olympic Committee, the
International Red Cross and international courts.
Proficiency in French is essential for anyone considering a career in any international
organisation. The ability to speak both French and English is an advantage for
finding a job with the many multinational companies using French as their working
language, in a wide range of sectors.
Speaking French opens new study opportunities at renowned French universities
and business schools. Students with a good level of French are eligible for French
government grants to enrol in postgraduate courses in France.
